Events & Benefits For Rock Hill Police Officer Matt Crosby

Officer Crosby was shot in the shoulder while responding to a domestic disturbance call on April 8, 2010. Upon sustaining this injury, he has been paralyzed from the chest down and is continuing his physical rehabilitation. Crosby, 30, has been with the Rock Hill Police Department for three years. He has a wife and three children, ages 6, 7 and 12.

The “Medal Ceremony” award recipients other than Officer Mathew Crosby will include the following individuals and their corresponding agencies who demonstrated valor in responding to this unfortunate incident:

  • Lieutenant Jorden Lewis – Rock Hill Police Department
  • Firefighter Tim Kendrick – Rock Hill Fire Department
  • Firefighter Steve Moore – Rock Hill Fire Department
  • Firefighter Nathan Kiehm – Rock Hill Fire Department
  • Nick Lang – Brentwood Police Department
  • Craig Eisenbeis – Brentwood Police Department
  • Steve Brown – Brentwood Fire Department
  • Ron Contrell – Brentwood Fire Department
  • David Doss – Ladue Police Department

Upon the conclusion of the ceremony a brief reception will be held in the lunch room of Steger School where refreshments and snacks will be served.

The city of Rock Hill is selling T-shirts at $15 each to benefit the Crosby family. Shirts may be purchased at Rock Hill City Hall, 9511 Manchester Road. Donations may be made at any Heartland Bank in care of the "Mathew Crosby Charitable Trust."
